Questions...
What is the best digital camera for a concert?
I'm looking for an affordable digital camera to take pictures for mainly concerts.
If you own a camera that you suggest, could you attach a picture from a concert that you have attended so I can fully see how well the camera is?
Thanks!

It really depends on two things 1) where you sit, and 2) is it dark in the location.
However, basically all cameras will be good. You'll just need to set some settings such as speed and flash/lighting. If you have a zoom lens, and you sit way back - use that.

I got this on sale for about $129, though its going for about $99 right now.
Pros: Cheap/Affordable!, quality scenic photos, portable, lightweight
Cons: Feels cheap, everything from the buttons to the rotating options wheel wreaks of poor construction. VERY poor at taking up close pictures (Thinking of taking a picture of a receipt or a ID with this camera? Think again!). rear LCD screen feels smaller than similar sized LCD’s. Doesn’t retract the zoom feature when in photo viewing mode like my canon.
Other notes:
The front LCD really isnt as useful as one might think, unless you’re taking a face shot of yourself, you most likely won’t be using it.
The rear LCD is a bit indented and looks smaller than other comparable LCD’s.
Most of the picture taking modes are useless… but that’s to be expected with this pricing.
Summary: Would I buy this camera again? well I wish I had bought it at that $99 price tag instead of $129. It’s cheap, it works great for scenic photos, it would make a good present for a teenager as the frontal LCD is fancy all be it rather useless outside of self photos.
I had heard good things about the Samsung cameras, but couldnt find any online reviews for the TL205 since this was a new product. However, I took a gamble and bought this camera. This is probably the worst purchase of my life. Auto focus is horrible, and taking pictures in low light is not even worth it. I really wish I had taken this back before the return period expired. The interface / menu is nice. And the smile detection actually works pretty well, but it doesnt out-weigh the fact that this takes horrible quality pictures.
I like the fact that there’s a small screen in the front, but right after the picture’s taken, the camera must stay there for a second in order for the camera to process it and the picture not be blurry. It wouldn’t be so much a problem if I had steady hands. Also, in video, when you put text close up, it won’t focus, which I’m sad about b/c I like to film videos that involve reading small text from time to time.
Usually, I’m a Canon man. I got this camera for my wife because she liked the dual view. And it is pretty cool, to be sure. We haven’t got to use it a whole lot yet, but here’s what I like so far: the camera is quick, light, inexpensive, good in low-light, and 12.2 megapixels, GOOD menus and quick access to the most important features. Did I mention it was inexpensive? I haven’t used too many snap-shot digital cameras – two different Canon Powershots and now this one – so, I’m probably not the most seasoned critic. But I am kinda a gadget-geek, and I’m going to say this camera is well-deserving of the 5 stars I give it. And about how it compares to its big brothers – the other Samsung dual-view cameras – well, once again, this one is the most inexpensive. So for me, it was the way to go.
I needed a camera quickly and bought this camera today for a function this weekend. It is going back to the store tomorrow. The problem is the case of the camera is black plastic and the functions buttons on the back are black on black, making them almost impossible to read. Why they put black on black is beyond comprehension. This camera is going back as I need to be able to see what the buttons are for without a flashlight. Now that I’m reading other reviews the picture quality seems to be lacking in this camera also.
Even though there’s no attached picture of a concert, check out the picture of the moon:
If you are really on a budget and want the best quality for the money, check out the P&S Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 [with a Leica lense] which has more features than most pro DSLRs that require auxiliary lenses not even equal to the single initial full-range lense that comes with the FZ28. It is reviewed at:
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2008_reviews/panasonic_fz28_pg5.html
It just came out on November 4, 2008.
It’s an all-in-one 10.1 megapixel digital camera which includes (i) built-in image stabilization; (ii) HD720 quality video [Quicktime] which permits zooming while videoing skateboarding, action sports; (iii) a 18x zoom [27 - 486 mm (35mm equiv.)] “Leica” lense for nature and concert photography; (iv) up to 0.39 inch macro option; (v) up to 6400 ASA; (vi) takes up to 380 pictures per 120 min. battery charge; (vii) has a “burst speed” of 13 fps; and sells new for $464 at amazon.com. in the U.S.
Here’s an actual handheld picture of the moon:
