Questions...
I am looking to buy a digital camera, but to be honest, I don't know the first thing about cameras. I have been told to steer clear of Casio cameras and look for cameras with at least 7mp and good optical zoom. I've never had a digital camera before, so I'm not quite sure what to look for.
I'd like to get one that is priced between £100 and £150.
Can you advise me on any good cameras, makes or qualities I should be looking for.
Thanks
Ellie

Canon is a fabulous brand. I love everything about them. You'd be set if you got any of those; I always check customer reviews anyway, but Canon is always good.
Megapixels (mps) don't really matter UNLESS you are planning on blowing up the pictures to some huge size. At regular photo size, you won't be able to tell the difference.

I really like the size, very little shutter lag, can imprint pictures with date, good color which sets it apart from other cameras, and good price.
I would have liked an optical viewfinder and wish it used AA batteries, but at this price you can’t easily find these features. I didn’t like having to print the users manual (97 pages!) from the DVD that came with it.
But overall, it’s just right for me.
Wanting a point-and-shoot again, to occasionally replace my beloved but bulky bridge camera, I chose this one based on reviews on Best Buy. I love it! Very simple to set up and learn to use. No separate battery charger needed — just connect the camera to an outlet, as you would a cell phone. The provided CD, with the user’s manual, isn’t usable on a Mac, which is a strange state of affairs, but the manual is easy to find on line.
i purchased this camera a couple of days ago at a nearby best buy, and i love it. The camera takes excellent pictures and it easy to use in normal situations, as well as easy to use in situations which require the use of the more advanced settings. I would recommend this camera to anybody who wants a good camera for everyday situations but the options and settings are not extensive enough for an avid photographer or extreme settings
I bought this camera for [...] at best buy and it was a great sale i was playing around with it and it take VERY CLEAR PICTURES i was very happy with it. A brand that you do not want to look in to is Vivitar it is the worse camera EVER!
go wit a camera thats from hp thee the bome !!!!
The best cameras to get are the ones made by proper camera companies.
Cannon, Nikon, Olympus, Sony…
Mega pixels are a bit overrated. If you print a 4 x 5 picture, the difference between 5mp, and 7mp won’t be very noticeable, at all. The most important part is the lens quality, and that’ll come from buying a camera from a company that knows how to make good cameras.
Appreciating the commitment you put into your website and detailed information you offer. It’s good to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same outdated rehashed information. Wonderful read! I’ve bookmarked your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.
